THE STORY OF MACCLESFIELD MALE VOICE CHOIR
Then & Now
Macclesfield Male Voice Choir was established in 1955. So its members have charmed audiences for nearly 70 years, performing concerts all over the country as well as abroad. New members are always welcome requiring only a desire to sing a varied repertoire inspired by our motto ‘Friendship through Song’. Although it obviously helps, there is no need to be able to read music. We offer the provision of online practice music as well as buddying with an existing member to help get you started.

We perform a wide variety of types of music, including sacred music, songs from the shows, pop songs, opera as well as traditional male voice items. Basically anything from Elvis to Wagner or G&S to Rogers & Hammerstein. What we don’t attempt is anything like Verdi’s Requiem!

The choir currently numbers around 40 men of all ages and from all walks of life who enjoy great camaraderie. We rehearse enthusiastically and perform regularly for concerts and charity events.

We rehearse at Broken Cross Methodist Church from 7.00 to 9.00 on Monday evenings and will offer a warm welcome to newcomers. So feel free to call into a rehearsal or to get in touch for a chat either via our website (www.maccmvc.co.uk), email (secretary@maccmvc.co.uk) or phone (07471 230513).
